Basketball Game Preview: Winona Tigers vs. Yazoo County Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Winona Tigers and the Yazoo County Panthers will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Winona and seven for Yazoo County.

Last Friday, Winona took a blow against Eupora, falling 63-35.

Meanwhile, Yazoo County might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Raymond an easy 63-38 win. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Rangers are ranked 32nd).

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Yazoo County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Winona suffered a grim 68-42 defeat to Yazoo County when the teams last played back in February. Can Winona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
