Basketball Recap: Franklin Wildcats vs. Jesuit Marauders
After flying high against the Pleasant Grove Eagles last Friday, the Franklin Wildcats came back down to earth. Franklin fell 51-43 to the Marauders on Wednesday. Franklin has not had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Franklin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Juarros, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals. Benjamin Sandy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Jesuit, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.
Franklin will head out on the road to take on the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Davis Sr. focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday. As for Jesuit, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Thundering Herd at 7:30 p.m. Averaging 53.46 points so far this season, Elk Grove's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Marauders better be ready for a challenge.
