Baseball Recap: Clairemont Comes Up Short

Clairemont lost against West Hills back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Chieftains fell 8-4 to the Wolf Pack. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clairemont got a good showing from Jackson Cleary, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Cleary has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Harrison Byard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West Hills, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Clairemont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Monte Vista on the 26th. As for West Hills, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Mission Bay on the 26th.
