Football Recap: Dunnellon Takes a Loss

Dunnellon and Hernando squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Dunnellon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 14-12. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Leopards are ranked 35th).

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Hernando, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Dunnellon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hernando, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against New Smyrna Beach at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Leopards 10.4, the Barracudas 5.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
