Softball Recap: Norte Vista Braves vs. Rubidoux Falcons

Norte Vista had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-15-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Rubidoux Falcons, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-6 defeat on Tuesday.

As for Rubidoux, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Rubidoux's part, Genevieve Aguas was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Aguas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Jayla Ramirez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Norte Vista will head out on the road to challenge La Sierra at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rubidoux, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Ramona at 3:15 p.m. The Rams will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
