Softball Game Preview: McLeod Longhorns vs. Bowie Pirates

The McLeod Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Bowie Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McLeod's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McLeod managed to slip by Bowie the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Longhorns lost 12-1 to the Pirates on Tuesday.

For Bowie's part, Alleyah Franco made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Franco has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Abigail Dial was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Allen, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

McLeod's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bowie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
