Volleyball Recap: Laney Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Laney waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle. This was a revenge game for the Buccaneers: when they faced off against the Screaming Eagle back in August, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (93-92) Laney actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 14-25, 25-19, 27-25.

Laney was led to victory by Abigail (Abbey) Hendren and Kinsley Nagle. Hendren had 22 assists and ten digs, while Nagle had 19 assists and six digs. That's the most assists Hendren has posted over her last six matches.

Laney's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Ashley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laney will host Topsail at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ashley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
