Basketball Recap: Brindlee Mountain Lions vs. Elkmont Red Devils
If Brindlee Mountain was riding high fresh off their 58-23 takedown of Crossville last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brindlee Mountain Lions took a hard 61-43 fall against the Elkmont Red Devils on Friday.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke West, who posted 12 points and four steals. West is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Persle, who earned ten points and seven rebounds.
Elkmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mckenzie Doner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Nyla Parker, who put up seven points in addition to 16 boards and four steals.
Brindlee Mountain's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for Elkmont, they moved to 2-9 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
