            Washburn won the last time they faced Cosby and things went their way  on Tuesday too. The Pirates blew past the Eagles 23-5. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Pirates.

 Matthew Harville made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  RBI (three).
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Riley Munsey, who  scored five  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Washburn: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise.  Brenton Emory also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 Washburn  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cosby only posted  an  OBP of  .423.
Washburn pushed their record up to 8-6-1 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Cosby,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-16-1.
 Coming up, Washburn will welcome Central Magnet  at 7:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Cosby, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Concord Christian  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.91  runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
