Baseball Recap: Old Rochester Regional Comes Up Short

Old Rochester Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on May 2nd.

Old Rochester Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Old Rochester Regional will welcome Bourne at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Canalmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.35 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Fairhaven at 3:45 p.m.
