Basketball Recap: Windsor Academy Piles Up the Points Against Flint River Academy

After losing to Flint River Academy the last time they met, Windsor Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Windsor Academy Knights blew past the Flint River Academy Wildcats, posting a 72-31 win. That looming 72-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

Windsor Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colby Chappell, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Chappell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Snow, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Windsor Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flint River Academy only posted eight assists.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D. J. Baums, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Newman, who put up five points and five boards.

Windsor Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Flint River Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

The future could be bright for both Windsor Academy and Flint River Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Windsor Academy will look to extend Piedmont Academy's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Flint River Academy will try to hand Oak Mountain Academy their tenth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
