Basketball Game Preview: Timnath Cubs vs. Coal Ridge Titans

The Timnath Cubs will take on the Coal Ridge Titans on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Timnath comes in on six and Coal Ridge on four.

Timnath is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Aspen 58-55.

Meanwhile, Coal Ridge posted their closest victory since February 4th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out DSST: Green Valley Ranch 46-43.

Timnath better focus on containing Ben Simons and Alex Cornejo as the pair were huge in Coal Ridge's win. Simons dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards, while Cornejo shot 45% from the field to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. What's more, Simons posted four assists, the most he's had since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Sanchez, who scored seven points and three steals.

Coal Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

Timnath's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Coal Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
