Football Recap: Southern Guilford Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 42-30 to the Southeast Guilford Falcons. The Storm lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-6 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Guilford lost, don't look at Robert Scott. Despite the final result, he rushed for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also caught one score.

Southern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Southeast Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Southern Guilford and Southeast Guilford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Storm will challenge Asheboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (260 vs. 106). Meanwhile, Southeast Guilford (ranked 126th) will meet Northern Guilford (ranked 33rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
