Williamson and East Rochester are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Marauders are taking a road trip to face off against the Bombers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Wednesday, Williamson got the win against Marion by a conclusive 16-6. Considering the Marauders have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Caiden Watson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Watson was even better at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, David DeFisher was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Riley Begy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Williamson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.
East Rochester came out on top against North Rose-Wolcott on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Bombers skirted past the Cougars 6-4. The game was the first time the Bombers have beaten the Cougars on their field since April 29, 2019.
Williamson pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for East Rochester, their record is now 13-3.
Everything went Williamson's way against East Rochester in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Williamson made off with a 12-2 victory. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
