Baseball Recap: Boca Raton Comes Up Short

Boca Raton lost against Calvary Christian Academy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Boca Raton Bobcats took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Boca Raton got a good showing from Matthew Lopez, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Chase Crawford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Jordan Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Boca Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-0-3.

Boca Raton and Calvary Christian Academy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Boca Raton will face off against Wellington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 3.25 runs per game. Boca Raton will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy and Centennial (who has only given up 1.6 runs per game) will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
