Basketball Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Roswell Hornets

The Gainesville Red Elephants will head out to face off against the Roswell Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gainesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.

On Saturday, Gainesville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-31 to Chattahoochee.

Despite the loss, Gainesville had strong showings from Damaria Colburn, who posted 11 points, and Jaucelyn Smith, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Roswell blew past Centennial, posting a 59-16 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Knights are ranked 487th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Roswell and bumps their season record up to 10-11. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Gainesville ended up a good deal behind Roswell in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 45-30. Can Gainesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
