Preview: Dora Falcons vs. Bakersfield Lions
The Dora Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Bakersfield Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dora comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Back in January, Dora lost to Norwood on the road by a decisive 45-26 margin.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bakersfield gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-25 victory over Couch on the road. Bakersfield pushed the score to 46-18 by the end of the third, a deficit Couch had little chance of recovering from.
Bakersfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Callie Smith, who scored 15 points. Jessie Keith was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Dora's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Bakersfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
Dora took a serious blow against Bakersfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-29. Can Dora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
