Basketball Recap: Union Area Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jordyn Kelley and Landon Eckert

After flying high against Western Beaver on Tuesday, Union Area came back down to earth. The Scotties came up short against the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers on Thursday, falling 56-35. The Scotties haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Union Area's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Eckert and Jordyn Kelley. Eckert posted 12 points and six rebounds, while Kelley put up seven points.

Union Area's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Union Area and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will both be playing Shenango the next time they take the court. The Scotties will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Chargers will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
