Softball Recap: Pine Grove Takes a Loss

Pine Grove lost against Walnut back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Pine Grove came up short against Walnut, falling 7-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pine Grove got a good showing from Edie Chapman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Pine Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Memory Mauney, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles Mauney has posted since back in March of 2024.

Pine Grove's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Walnut, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Grove will face off against Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walnut, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Walnut Wildcats face off against Hatley Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
