Baseball Game Preview: Pillager Huskies vs. Parkers Prairie Panthers

Pillager is 1-9 against Parkers Prairie since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Pillager will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Pillager earned a 6-2 win over Menahga.

The team relied heavily on Brooks Birchaek, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Hoglin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Pillager was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Parkers Prairie made easy work of Osakis on Friday and carried off a 9-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Parkers Prairie and bumps their season record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Pillager, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
