Volleyball Recap: Cedar Catholic Trojans vs. Superior Wildcats

Cedar Catholic and Superior squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cedar Catholic had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Superior Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.

Cedar Catholic took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-8.

Cedar Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bailey Hochstein, who had 34 digs, and Mckinlee Lammers, who had 19 digs. Hochstein is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last eight games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Mia Gardner, who had 20 digs.

The defeat snapped Cedar Catholic's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-19 record. As for Superior, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 27-7.

Cedar Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Superior, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on the 8th.
