Baseball Recap: American Heritage Has No Trouble Against Maeser Prep Academy

American Heritage lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Maeser Prep Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Patriots blew past the Lions 13-3 on Thursday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Tanner Brockbank was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in August. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bennett Jansen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Buer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

American Heritage pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Maeser Prep Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.
