Basketball Game Preview: Peak to Peak Pumas vs. Kent Denver Sun Devils

Peak to Peak and Kent Denver are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Peak to Peak Pumas will face off against the Kent Denver Sun Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Peak to Peak sitting on three straight victories and Kent Denver on four.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Peak to Peak against Eagle Ridge Academy as the team secured a 43-11 win. The Pumas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Alexandra Eschmeyer, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 15 boards. Her afternoon made it 19 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Temple Weed, who posted three points.

Peak to Peak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

St. Mary's Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Kent Denver proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 52-35.

Peak to Peak's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.1 points. As for Kent Denver, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Peak to Peak didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Kent Denver in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Kent Denver's Anya Peper, who earned 27 points and six rebounds.
