Basketball Recap: Chipley Extends Winning Streak to Six

Chipley entered their tilt with Mosley on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took down the Mosley Dolphins 52-37. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Dolphins are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chipley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addyson Suggs, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sarayah Hogan, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points.

Chipley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mosley only posted seven assists.

Faith Alvarado and Lovelee Holley certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Alvarado had 12 points, while Holley went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points. Holley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. McKenzie Rimmer was another key player, putting up two points and 14 rebounds.

Chipley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Mosley, they moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Chipley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-29 win against Blountstown on the 17th. As for Mosley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-42 loss against Bay on the 16th.
