Basketball Recap: Akiak Starts off Right with Win over Akiachak

Akiak gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Akiachak Huskies, sneaking past 49-47. The Thunderbolts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Akiachak's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tuluksak the next time they take the court. Akiak will host Tuluksak on Saturday, while Akiachak will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
