Baseball Recap: Swain County Gets the Win

Swain County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Andrews Wildcats by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 last Tuesday.

Grady Lewis was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Swain County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Andrews, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Swain County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robbinsville at 4:30 p.m. The Maroon Devils are facing the Black Knights at the right time seeing as the Black Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Andrews, they will venture away from home to square off against Union County at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
