Softball Recap: Union City Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Union City won the last time they faced Iroquois and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears never let the Braves get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Cheyenne Cummings, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Swan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

The victory (which was Union City's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Iroquois, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Union City is taking a road trip to square off against Seneca at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Iroquois, they will host Mercyhurst Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
