Basketball Recap: Fairfax Homeschool Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Fairfax HomeSchool was the 43-33 winner over Chelsea Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks fell 71-61 to the Chelsea Academy Knights on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hawks came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Knights are ranked 133rd).

Cici Wingate was her usual excellent self, putting up 25 points and three steals for Chelsea Academy. With that strong performance, Wingate is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Evelyn Wingate was another key player, scoring 13 points and five boards.

Fairfax HomeSchool's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-3. As for Chelsea Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Fairfax HomeSchool will welcome Northern Virginia HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chelsea Academy has already played their next game (against Christ Chapel Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
