Basketball Recap: Joseph City Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Joseph City won the last time they faced Mogollon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Joseph City Wildcats walked away with a 72-62 win over the Mogollon Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Joseph City was led to victory by Cort Miller and Eli James. Miller went 6 of 15 on his way to 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while James went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. James is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Jaimen Tsosie was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Joseph City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Joseph City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Mogollon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Joseph City will venture away from home to square off against BASIS Flagstaff at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. BASIS Flagstaff has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mogollon has already played their next contest (against Williams), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
