Volleyball Recap: Cumberland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cumberland entered their tilt with Neoga on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Indians. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21.

MacKenzie Claybaugh paced Cumberland's offense, picking up six kills. Claybaugh got some help from Alysa Dittamore and her ten assists. Mia Holsapple controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cumberland's victory bumped their record up to 8-10-1. As for Neoga, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Cumberland is taking a road trip to challenge St. Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neoga, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg on the 23rd.
