Softball Recap: Lincoln Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lincoln got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They put the hurt on the Wilson Mules with a sharp 12-6 victory. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Mules on their field since April 12, 2018.

Ash De La NUEZ was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Monica Amaya, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lincoln moved to 6-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Wilson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will welcome Bravo at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Wilson, they will be playing at home against Franklin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
