Lucia Williams put in work no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Grace Gallagher led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nina Asnani, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, La Jolla made easy work of Hoover on Thursday and carried off a 24-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
La Jolla got a massive performance out of Jacey Taylor, who went 1-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Taylor has posted since back in February. Charlotte Vargas also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
La Jolla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in five consecutive contests.
High Tech SD's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for La Jolla, their record is now 7-11.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. High Tech SD has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .496. However, it's not like La Jolla struggles in that department as they've averaged .564. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
High Tech SD suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to La Jolla when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
