Softball Preview: Logansport Berries vs. Marion Giants        
        
		
            
 Logansport is 7-2 against Marion since May of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Wednesday. The Logansport Berries will head out on the road to  square off against  the Marion Giants at 6:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
 Logansport is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout  on Wednesday, just like they did against Pioneer (and have done all season long). Everything went Logansport's way against Pioneer on Monday as Logansport made off with  an  11-2 victory. The  win was familiar territory for Logansport who now have four in a row.
  Brooklynn Hagerty made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Hagerty has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than seven  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hagerty was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kellyn Cripe, who  scored three  runs while going 1-for-4.  Bella Nicoles was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Marion made easy work of Muncie Central  on Monday and carried off  a  13-2 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Marion.
 Like Logansport, Marion also got a great game from a two-way player:  Chistin Morgan. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Morgan was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Lamariya Cannon was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Jakira Jones, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Logansport's win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 20-5. As for Marion, their record is now 2-10.
 Both  both teams just can't seem to miss. Logansport has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.2  hits per game. However, it's not like Marion struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 5.5. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Logansport took their  victory against Marion  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2021 by a conclusive  11-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Logansport since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
