Baseball Recap: Halifax Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Halifax had won five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 12-2 to make it six. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Juniata Indians. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Josh Zahurak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Halifax let Brandon Schell and Cooper Custer run wild. Schell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Custer went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Custer has posted since back in March of 2024.

Halifax hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Juniata struck out seven times.

As for Juniata, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Juniata's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Auker, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
