Baseball Recap: Willow Glen's Run of 13 Straight Victories Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Willow Glen couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Carmel Padres by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Dante Pini was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Korba was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
