Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valley Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Making Waves Academy Marlins. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-7 on Tuesday.

Levi Heise was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Valley Christian's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Heise was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eli Durepo was a standout: he earned one RBI, two runs, and five stolen bases. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Hernandez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Making Waves Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7-1.

As of now, neither Valley Christian nor the Marlins have any future games scheduled.
