Baseball Game Preview: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls

Frostproof hasn't had much luck against LaBelle recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Frostproof Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Frostproof didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Placid and fell 7-6.

Landon Fuller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Rybinski, who scored two runs and stole Two bases.

Meanwhile, LaBelle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Cypress Lake. That's two games in a row now that the Cowboys/Cowgirls have lost by just one run.

Walter McKown was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, LaBelle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson White, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Zachary Campbell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

LaBelle's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Frostproof, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
