Basketball Recap: Cypress Creek Comes Up Short

Cypress Creek's game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the East River Falcons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-45 last Friday.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alikai Creque, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Creque has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kingston Baez, who posted eight points and five assists.

Cypress Creek's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for East River, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Cypress Creek will head out on the road to face off against Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for East River, they will take on Suncoast in a tournament on December 26th.
