Baseball Recap: Sequoia Beats Aragon for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Sequoia came out on top against Aragon on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Ravens were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Dons. Winning may never get old, but the Ravens sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Cameron Abrams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Mathias, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Drew Ostrander was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Sequoia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.

Sequoia's record now sits at 13-9. As for Aragon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia will square off against Capuchino at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Ravens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Aragon, they will face off against Half Moon Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
