Basketball Recap: Largo Takes a Loss

Largo lost against Clearwater Central Catholic back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Largo Packers were outmatched by the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders and fell 53-17. While losing is never fun, the Packers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Marauders are ranked 137th).

When it comes to explaining why Largo lost, don't look at Ana Leka. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and eight boards.

Emme Dalhoff was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 15 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists for Clearwater Central Catholic. Dalhoff is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Julia Comfort was another key player, putting up nine points.

Largo is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Largo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-23 victory against Dunedin on the 13th. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-23 win against Pinellas Park on the 15th.
