Softball Recap: Brown County Comes Up Short

Brown County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers, falling 8-2. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Vipers when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brown County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18.

Coming up, Brown County will square off against Macomb at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.68 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they have already played their next game, a 12-6 victory against Nokomis on the 14th.
