Volleyball Game Preview: Foundation Academy Lions vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes

The Foundation Academy Lions will head out on the road to take on the Mount Dora Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Dora took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Foundation Academy, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Foundation Academy took on Dr. Phillips on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-20.

Foundation Academy relied on the efforts of Luna Dela Cruz, who had nine digs, and Kaitlyn Hatfield, who had six digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Mount Dora's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Lake Minneola. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hurricanes have suffered since September 9th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Mount Dora's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Foundation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.

Foundation Academy took their win against Mount Dora in their previous matchup back in August by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
