Softball Recap: Dublin Gaels vs. Amador Valley Dons

Dublin extended their losing streak to 13 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-15 in the process. They came up short against the Amador Valley Dons, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.

As for Amador Valley, their record is now 10-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Amador Valley's part, Lauren Tran was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tran was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in June of 2024.

In other pitching news, Kaylee Davis looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Ava Davis was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mai Falcone, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Dublin will head out to square off against Santa Clara at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Amador Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Dons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
