Softball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Comes Up Short

The Cornerstone Christian Warriors didn't have quite enough to beat the Hyde Park Panthers on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elisa Hernandez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Julissa Sanchez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Cornerstone Christian now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Hyde Park, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hyde Park beat Cornerstone Christian by a score of 9-4 later that day.
