Basketball Game Preview: Highland Park Giants vs. Buffalo Grove Bison

Having just played yesterday, the Highland Park Giants will get right back to it and host the Buffalo Grove Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Highland Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Highland Park beat Maine East 55-51. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Blue Demons are ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 win over Wheeling on Thursday.

Highland Park pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Buffalo Grove, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.

Highland Park beat Buffalo Grove 54-43 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Highland Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buffalo Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
