Baseball Recap: Plainedge Wins Going Away Against Malverne

Plainedge won the last time they faced Malverne and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Red Devils blew past the Mules 17-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Taylor Nitsch made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Nitsch was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

In other pitching news, Matt Sharon looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Bobby Wescott was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Brady Henderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Plainedge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malverne only posted an OBP of .118.

Plainedge's record is now 2-0. As for Malverne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Plainedge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mules: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
