Baseball Recap: Herron Comes Up Short

After soaring to 23 runs the game before, Herron was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against the Speedway Sparkplugs, falling 17-1. The Achaeans were not able to make up for their loss to the Sparkplugs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Herron saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abraham Cherry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Herron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Speedway, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herron will take on Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Speedway, they will square off against Triton Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sparkplugs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
