Edgewood's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Monroe Hornets with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 9th.

Railynn Bowman paced Edgewood's offense, picking up 19 kills. Bowman got some help from Ella Crist and her 31 assists. Rylee Dawes controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Edgewood's victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Monroe, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Edgewood and Monroe could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Cougars will square off against Lakota West at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (285 vs. 76). Meanwhile, Monroe (ranked 655th) will meet Talawanda (ranked 144th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
