Softball Recap: Thrasher Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Thrasher came into Friday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Shannon Red Raiders with a sharp 16-6 win on Friday. The Rebels not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd.

Brookelyn Roberts was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Olivia Robinson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

Roberts wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Thrasher lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Thrasher's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Shannon, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thrasher will head out to take on Potts Camp at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Potts Camp will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Thrasher surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shannon, they will face off against Itawamba Agricultural at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Itawamba Agricultural will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
