Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Lincoln Tigers

The Franklin Panthers will take on the Lincoln Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin will be strutting in after a victory while Lincoln will be coming in after a loss.

Franklin came out on top against Eagle Rock on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Panthers walked away with a 9-4 win over the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly five runs.

Joseph Galindo made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Galindo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Jimmy Gonzalez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Asher Epifano, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to Marshall.

Franklin's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-4. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
